“AutoMobili-D continues to be a showplace for emerging technologies and startups as well as a catalyst for talent cultivation, particularly among the next generation,” said Detroit Auto Show Chairman Karl Zimmermann.  “We’re gratified to see the significant university and high school presence at this year’s Show, especially as our industry continues to seek bold and bright talent solutions for the future.  The new Future Leaders Forum, being presented by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Office of Mobility and Electrification, is an important component in facilitating this quest for new talent.”

Al Lecz, director, Advanced Transportation Center, at Washtenaw Community College (WCC) comments, “We look forward to sharing our WCC’s Transportation Technologies Exhibit with show attendees during AutoMobili-D. Our exhibit will showcase our various training programs ranging from Auto Body Repair, Auto Service, Powertrain Development and Automotive Cybersecurity. Instructors will be onsite to answer questions perspective students might have. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to be at the Detroit Auto Show to demonstrate what WCC has to offer.”

The 17 universities are a part of the Future Leaders Forum, sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Office of Mobility and Electrification. The program is providing hundreds of college and high school students the opportunity to learn more about careers in the automotive and mobility industries.
