The Detroit Auto Show and the Detroit Grand Prix are thrilled to announce a new partnership for the 2025 Auto Show that will feature Racing Day presented by the Detroit Grand Prix on Friday, January 17. This collaboration of two iconic Detroit brands, and the highly-anticipated return of Racing Day, will unite racing and automotive enthusiasts for a day filled with full-throttle excitement. The Detroit Auto Show is Jan. 10-20, 2025, at Huntington Place in Detroit and the schedule is available at detroitautoshow.com.
The new alliance between two of the Motor City’s most popular annual events will include two Detroit Grand Prix interactive display areas throughout the course of the 2025 Detroit Auto Show – in the concourse area at Huntington Place that is free and open to the public during regular Auto Show hours and on the show floor, appropriately located “trackside.”
For the first time in its tenured history, the Detroit Auto Show will feature two indoor tracks, allowing for an even more immersive consumer experience. One of the tracks will be designed to incorporate some of the signature elements of the street circuit that will roar to life on the Streets of Downtown Detroit, May 30-June 1 at next year’s Detroit Grand Prix.
The Detroit Grand Prix-themed and branded track will be active throughout the 2025 Detroit Auto Show and on Friday, January 17, that track will be exclusively dedicated to Racing Day programming, where attendees will have the opportunity to witness the intersection of automotive innovation and competitive motorsports. This track takeover will provide robust programming for attendees while celebrating the heritage of the Grand Prix and racing in the Motor City.
“The Detroit Grand Prix embodies innovation and the spirit of Detroit,” said Sam Klemet, Co-Executive Director of the Detroit Auto Show. “We are thrilled to have a partnership with the Detroit Grand Prix and bring this amazing experience of Racing Day to the 2025 Detroit Auto Show.”
“We’re excited to partner with the Detroit Auto Show and bring together two great Detroit traditions,” said Michael Montri, President of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. “For many years, Racing Day was a popular attraction at the Detroit Auto Show and we look forward to bringing this tradition back to the Motor City with some of the high-powered stars and cool race cars that take center stage every summer at the Detroit Grand Prix.”
Racing Day presented by the Detroit Grand Prix at the Detroit Auto Show will bring the streets of the Motor City live to Huntington Place.
On Racing Day, attendees will have the chance to interact with some of the top racing drivers competing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone, two of the series that annually compete at the Detroit Grand Prix. Several stunning race cars will also be on display.
The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear showcases the City on a global platform and shines a positive light on Detroit by connecting the surrounding communities while generating millions of dollars in economic benefits. Bringing the excitement of the Detroit Grand Prix into the winter months, Racing Day will help turbocharge the Detroit Auto Show on January 17, 2025.
Additional Racing Day announcements will follow in the coming weeks. Visit detroitautoshow.com and follow on social media for the latest news.
