Detroit Auto Show Partners with Michigan Science Center to Bring Family-Friendly STEM Activations to the 2025 Show

Kid-friendly science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities!

December 31, 2024

The Detroit Auto Show, in partnership with the Michigan Science Center (Mi-Sci), today announced the Jan. 10-20 event will feature a host of kid-friendly science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities, designed to ignite a curiosity for math and science among the next generation. Consistently named one of the Best Museums in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards, Mi-Sci will bring a slice of its dynamic Midtown STEM engagement hub directly to the Show floor at Detroit’s Huntington Place.

Designed for young show-goers, the Mi-Sci exhibit will include a variety of experiential activations, including an exclusive area for budding auto enthusiasts to build a vehicle as well as an inflatable planetarium.

“We are incredibly excited about this unique opportunity to connect with auto enthusiasts from across the region and beyond,” said Dr. Christian Greer, president and CEO. “At Mi-Sci, our mission is to put YOU at the center of science. And in January, the Detroit Auto Show is undoubtedly one of the best places to do it! Our talented educators are passionate about engaging curious minds of all ages, so they have loaded up our Traveling Science outreach van and are ready to take Mi-Sci on the road. At the Show, we will provide exciting family-friendly demonstrations and hands-on learning activities that open young minds to many of the same STEM concepts and principles that automotive professionals use every day.”

Detroit Auto Show Co-Executive Director Sam Klemet expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “The Michigan Science Center is a true gem and one of Detroit’s cornerstone organizations. We’re thrilled to collaborate with them on this exciting and impactful educational initiative. The Detroit Auto Show celebrates innovation, and teaming up with the Michigan Science Center allows us to inspire young minds through STEM activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to ignite a passion for learning and automotive innovation, placing our future automotive trailblazers right at the heart of science and technology with these hands-on experiences.”

Public Show, Industry Days and Charity Preview tickets are on sale at detroitautoshow.com.
