The Detroit Auto Show today announced multi-platinum recording artist and hip-hop icon Flo Rida will headline the black-tie Charity Preview on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at Huntington Place in Detroit.  The signature Motor City event will benefit six children’s charities in Southeast Michigan.  Editor’s Note: Flo Rida image available here.

Born in Miami Gardens, Fla., Flo Rida catapulted to superstardom over a decade ago with the platinum-certified single, “Low” (featuring T-Pain), which spent 10 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.  He subsequently unleashed a string of record-breaking singles, including “Right Round” (featuring Ke$ha), “In the Ayer” (featuring will.i.am), “Club Can’t Handle Me” (featuring David Guetta) and “Wild Ones” (featuring Sia), in addition to “Good Feeling,” “Whistle,” “My House” and “I Cry.”

The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter has sold over 100 million singles worldwide and today is CEO of his own label, International Music Group.

Charity Preview has raised more than $100 million for children’s charities in Southeastern Michigan over the past 25 years alone. In total, the event has generated over $125 million since its inception in 1976. Beneficiaries for the 2025 Charity Preview include:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan
  • The Children’s Center
  • The Children’s Foundation
  • Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan
  • Detroit PAL
  • University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital
