Join us next Wednesday to hear Alexis Garcin, Chairman and President of Michelin North America, Inc., talk about Michelin’s global sustainability strategy and how the company has executed that strategy in North America as it confronted the unexpected challenge of managing the company through a global pandemic.

Garcin is responsible for coordinating all activities of Michelin in North America, Inc., which includes more than $9 billion in sales and over 20,000 employees across Canada and the United States. Appointed in 2019, Garcin guided the top-selling global tire brand through the COVID-19 global pandemic in North America as manufacturers shut down manufacturing plants and then gradually restarted them over the summer.

Garcin will talk about what the company did to respond to those challenges at manufacturing plants from Oklahoma to Alabama to Nova Scotia as well as at its headquarters in Greenville, S.C. He will also talk about the company’s commitment to global sustainability while still delivering the operational performance necessary to preserve the profitability of the company.

“Since day one in this pandemic our first priority has been the health, safety and wellbeing of our people,” Garcin said. “The crisis has amplified the relevance of our vision to be an all sustainable company which means we must balance people, profit and planet in everything we do.”
