A VIP group of children and their families will have the opportunity to spend two fun-filled days at the Detroit Auto Show as special guests of The Greater Detroit Area Toyota Dealers on Monday, Jan. 19 and Friday, Jan. 23. The Toyota dealers will be hosting children affiliated with The Rainbow Connection, an organization that has been granting the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses since 1985.
This is the fourth year the Toyota dealers have hosted The Rainbow Connection’s visit to the show, and the dealer group says it is a privilege to be able to bring hundreds of vehicles to life for these children, while providing a respite from daily challenges. The Detroit Auto Show, too, has partnered with The Rainbow Connection for over 20 years.
“The continued support of the Greater Detroit Area Toyota Dealers and the Detroit Auto Dealer Association for The Rainbow Connection’s Wish Children and their families has been nothing short of phenomenal,” said CEO and Executive Director of The Rainbow Connection Ingrid Todt. “Each year, hundreds of Wish Family members are absolutely thrilled to attend one of the most exciting events in Detroit, celebrating what Detroit does best – cars! Best of all, this incredible experience gives Wish Children something truly special, fun and unforgettable to look forward to.”
The children and their families will have a chance to experience all the excitement surrounding the show and the many family-friendly activations, including the all-new Visit Detroit Interactive Experience. The activation features hands-on STEM activities, immersive racing simulations and even a track for some of the youngest show visitors. While at the show, the group will also enjoy lunch, and the children will receive a bag of goodies from Toyota and the Detroit Auto Show with memories from their visit.
